Session Review
Review your Session materials, including rough transcripts, video and audio recordings, and exhibits on the Session Review page. You can also create video clips of individual participants, flag lines in the rough transcript, and download Session materials. The Session Review page can be accessed after a Session has concluded from the Prevail Platform.
Session Review is available by subscription or by purchasing access for an individual Session. If you would like to learn more about accessing Session Review, please contact Customer Success at CustomerSuccess@prevail.io.

Access Session Review
Session Review is available to subscribing members from the Sessions page.
- Sign in to your Prevail account at Prevail.io.
- On the Navigation menu, click Sessions.
- In the Actions column, click Review.
You are taken to the Session Review page.
Options Menu
Use the Options menu to set the transcript to automatically scroll as the video plays, show/hide timeline flags and clips, open Flag Settings, or go to the Help portal.
Option | Description |
Auto-Scroll Transcript | Sets the transcript to automatically scroll with the video as it plays. |
Timeline Flags | Shows/hides flag markers from the timeline. |
Timeline Clips | Shows/hides clip markers from the timeline. |
Flag Settings | Opens the Flag Settings window, where you can customize your flags. |
Help | Opens the Prevail Help portal in a new tab. |
Search the Transcript by Keyword
You can search the transcript by keyword by clicking the Search icon and typing a term into the Search box.
- In the Transcript module, click the Search icon.
- In the Search box, type a term.
Note: Exact matches are highlighted in orange, and similar matches are highlighted in yellow.
The term is highlighted in the rough transcript.
- Use the up and down Arrows to view matches.
Filter the Transcript by Flag
You can filter the transcript by flag, so only text lines with matching flags are displayed.
- In the Transcript module, click the Filter by Flag icon.
- In the Select Flag drop-down, select a flag style.
Text lines with matching terms are displayed.
Adjust Playback Speed
You can adjust the speed at which the video plays by selecting an option from the Playback Speed drop-down menu.
Replay Audio Selections
You can use the Listen option in the Transcript module to replay selected audio in a new tab.
- In the Transcript module, select one or more lines of text…
- To select a single line, click on a line of text.
- Optional: To select multiple lines, click the Toggle Options icon > Multiple Lines icon.
Note: When you finish your selection, click the Multiple Lines icon again to disable the feature.
Note: Alternatively, you can press and hold SHIFT as you click.
- Click Listen.
The audio file opens in a new tab.
- Use the audio controls to play or pause the audio recording.
- Optional: To adjust the volume, click the Volume icon.
View Participant Video
Focus on a single participant by selecting a participant name from the Participant drop-down in the Video module. Use the video controls to play/pause, adjust the volume level, enter/exit full-screen, adjust the playback speed, or download the selected participant’s full video file.
Add Flags
You can add flags to your transcript copy and edit the flags you placed during a session in the Transcript module. Multiple flags can be added to a single transcript line.
- In the Transcript module, select one or more lines of text…
- To select a single line, click on a line of text.
- Optional: To select multiple lines, click the Toggle Options icon > Multiple Lines icon.
Note: When you are finished with your selection, click the Multiple Lines icon again to disable the feature.

- Click Flag.
The Flag window opens.
- Select a flag style...
- Click to expand the Flag drop-down.
- Select a flag style from the list.
- Optional: In the Leave an optional note... box, type a message.
Manage Flags
You can modify your flags in Flag Settings, available from the Options drop-down menu.
Delete or Edit Flags
You can easily edit and delete the flags you have you have already added to your transcript copy.
- In the Transcript module, click a flagged line of text.
The Edit Flag window opens.
- To delete the flag, click the Trash Can icon.
- To edit the flag note...
- Click Begin Editing
- In the box, edit your note.
- Click Save.
Create Clips
When you create a clip, select a participant’s video feed from the Participant drop-down menu in the Video module. Move the slider and expand or contract the handles to select the time duration for the clip while you preview the video feed. You can also move the tracker to pinpoint a location for the video to start when you click the Play button.
- In the Transcript module, select one or more lines of text…
- To select a single line, click on a line of text.
- Optional: To select multiple lines, click the Toggle Options icon > Multiple Lines icon.

- Click Clip.
The Clip window opens.
- In the Clip title* box, type a title for your clip.
- In the Participant drop-down, select a participant's name for the video feed.
- Select the time duration…
- Move the Slider and expand or contract the Handles.
- In the Start and End boxes, use the Up and Down arrows to adjust the time.
Note: A preview of the video displays as you move the Slider.
- Optional: To play the video, position the Tracker bar and click the Play icon. Note: A preview of the video displays as you move the Slider.
- Click Save.
Review or Download Video Clips
You can review all your clips, including the clips created during a Session, with options to edit or download in the Clips module.
Review or Download Session Files
You can review or download Session files in the Session Briefcase module. To open a file in a new tab for review, click the Expand icon. To download a file to your computer, click the Download icon.
Download or Print the Transcript
You can download or print the transcript file and choose from multiple formatting options, including CSV. Members who have purchased a certified transcript can download a digital or certified copy.
